What a Waste!

I don't know whether I'd be pissed or ecstatic. And I'm talking about being the guy holding the glass.  If I were the guy being drenched, I'd be pissed.

The Victim and the Culprit

Well, 'Old Sparky,' my trusty propane burner has started allowing too much air into the combustion process, producing a bright yellow flame, coating my kettle with a thick layer of soot. So until I get a new burner, I am on a brewing hiatus. Perfect timing, too. In ten days I begin the 2010 Mission From God, my annual trip to the National Homebrewers Conference in Minneapolis. When I get back, I will purchase a new burner and resume making crappy beer.

Dinner at Fredericksburg Brewing Company

It's been a trying couple of months at our household. On the Friday before Valentine's day we put Dad into the hospital with a ruptured colon. (He's doing well, and will probably be released next week.) On Wednesday, Mom got sick, and went to her doctor. They called me at work to take her to the hospital. After work I went to visit her, and finished up the night at Fredericksburg Brewing Company, completely oblivious to the fact it was ten minutes to closing time. Fortunately they let me order anyway.

Bye Bye Rye Bock

Our experiment to make a rye bock is a failure. We had an infection, and I lost three bottles in the fridge. Satan lost six, and ruined an old Lone Star Long Neck carrier I had loaned him. Bastard.

The the Rye Bock went bye bye.

Tardy Bell Brown Ale

Waaay back in October, Satan came to town for Oktoberfest, and he stopped at the Eola Brewery and Lodge and brought me a growler of the then unnamed brown ale.

On my way to Midland to help Satan brew Brother Spuds Oatmeal Stout, I stopped for a beer or two, and learned that the beer had been named: Tardy Bell Brown Ale.

That's a great name for a beer brewed in an old school house.

I Don't Know If I Would Drink It
