Craft Beer Week at Pedernales Brewing Company and Fredericksburg Brewing Company - 5/12-17

Pedernales Brewing Company: Pedernales Brewing Company now has a Bier Garten for you to enjoy their six craft beers.   In celebration of American Craft Beer Week, the PBC Bier Garten will be open extended hours May 12-17; Monday through Thursday from 3-7, and Friday and Saturday from 1-7.

Fredericksburg Brewing Company: Meet the brewers and enjoy food and beer specials. Daily during normal business hours.

Pre-thanksgiving Pub Visit

As Thanksgiving approaches, thing here in Paradise get a mite busy. I took a couple of vacation days this week, and decided on one last visit to Fredericksburg Brewing Company before the hordes descend upon the town.

While I appreciate what the GDTs (Gosh Darn Tourists (a designation I first heard from my legendary Uncle Donn who worked in DC)) contribute to the economy, I can also dislike mixing in with them. Too long in the retail/service industries, I guess.

I can tell you that Fritztown Brown is wonderful, even if a day old. And Hoppy Holidays is coming soon!

All too soon, I will be headed back to the bunker until Monday.

75 Years of Beer Celebrated at Fredericksburg Brewing Company - 4/7

It has been 75 years since President Franklin Roosevelt modified the Volstead Act (prohibition) which banned alcohol in the United States, which allowed Americans to once again enjoy beer. Tonight, from 5:00 –- 8:00 p.m., the Fredericksburg Brewing Company will mark that anniversary with a “75 Years of Beer” celebration at 245 E. Main Street. There will be live entertainment by Josh Dodds, complimentary appetizers and door prizes.
