A Quick Rule of Thumb

While brewing the Black Wine, I searched all over the Internet to see how much volume 10 pounds of DME would add to liquid. Since I never got an answer, I just did it by the seat of my pants, and learned that 10 pounds of DME will add 2 gallons to 5 gallons of liquid. If you do the math, that comes out to 1 pound adds slightly less than 1 quart to a gallon of water.
